About Me

About me

I have been passionate about psychology and sociology since childhood.
I was born in Poland, where I graduated from the Marie Curie Sklodowska University in Lublin with a degree in Social Work at the highest grade, later going on to achieve a Masters in Social Work in Educational and Child Care Facilities at Academy of Special Education in Warsaw.

I am registered with Social Work England in the UK (SW50503), as well as locally here in Jersey with the Jersey Care Commission (3101).

My journey of working with people with mental health problems and disabilities started when I was at university and since then I have never stopped seeking ways to help others.
In 2001, I moved to Jersey, Channel Islands, where I started working at the homeless shelter, where I assisted vulnerable adults for over 8 years before moving to the Income Support Department at Social Security. Since 2014 I have been at Jersey Employment Trust, where I supported people with disabilities, long-term illnesses and mental health conditions to find and sustain employment.  In 2019 I moved to Mind Jersey (charity which helps people with mental health) and since then my knowledge and experience has expanded even more. I support people with mental health conditions and their carers. I never tire of helping people to realize their potential and achieve success.

Following on from my own lived experience of mental health when I was diagnosed with depression, I realized that any other health (physical) conditions begin in the brain, when we are psychologically unwell! Therefore, we ALL need to look after our mental health at the same level as we do with our physical health.

Having tried various methods to improve my own mental health and not finding one that suited me, I decided to give biofeedback therapy a go. From this moment biofeedback became my new passion! It is proven to work without the need for taking medications or using CBT or DBT techniques. Not only has it improved my well-being and enabled me to relax, but biofeedback has helped with concentration and focus, and given me the energy to look after my children and keep supporting others in my work.

In 2016, I certified as a Neurofeedback and Biofeedback Trainer through the Institute of Biofeedback and Noo-psychosomatic and since then I have been continuously expanding my knowledge and skills in this field to ensure I provide my clients with the very best therapy possible.

I am also a registered member of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback Society.
